Michael Todd Gel Cleanser and Toner

Up until a few weeks ago I had never heard of Michael Todd True Organics. This changed when I watched this video from Fleur De Force. My current toner - Tea Tree Water from Lush -  was nearly finished and Fleur made the Blue Green Algae Toner ($18/£12) sound so good that I just had to give it a try! I also purchased the Charcoal Detox Gel Cleanser (Around $24/£16) as I was looking to move away from my trusty Liz Earle cleanse and polish and try something new.

Although it was being shipped from America my little Michael Todd package arrived pretty quickly. All the brands products are organic and don't contain any nasties! I really like the packaging and how the two bottles are the same colours but used oppositely (it's the little things!). I've never tried a gel cleanser before so this was a first for me. The consistency is quite thin but lathers up nicely. It smells fresh and the only part that resembles charcoal is the colour! On the first use it removed my make up but Earle beats Todd hands down on the eye make up. The gel cleanser just didn't quite remove my stubborn mascara and this resulted in me using a make up wipe to remove my make up before cleansing. Although this extra step is not particularly lengthy, I prefer my cleanser to remove all my make up. The Charcoal Detox Gel Cleanser is a great product but not enough to pull me away from my beloved hot cloth cleanser. The search for a new cleanser continues!

The Blue Green Algae Toner was the main Michael Todd product that Fleur mentioned. It has a similar fresh lavendar scent as the gel cleanser which leaves my skin feeling very refreshed. I apply the toner to one of my cotton pads and gently wipe around my face. The Lush Tea Tree Water comes in a spray bottle and I find this easier to control how much toner you are using so that is the only thing I would adapt about this product. I definitely think it has kept any breakouts at bay and helped reduce any existing problem areas. My skin doesn't feel stripped or tight after I use it and I think this is down to the organic, paraben free ingredients which is definitely the way forward!

I will be repurchasing the Blue Green Algae Toner without a doubt! Really like it but the gel cleanser on the other hand did not make me want to swap my current cleanser and although it's a nice product, I feel that there are better products on the market that I want to try.

Arteecollage: How To Wear The Hottest Spring Trends: Bermuda Shorts

Arteecollage plain white tank top

Shorts I here you say, shorts in this weather?! Unfortunately the UK seems to be stuck in a winter snap once again. We should be looking to wear our spring dresses each day, and not at our scarves and wellies! Rather than building a snow man for the 50th time, I decided to look to the catwalk to cheer myself up. I love the Bermuda style shorts featured at DKNY, Michael Kors and Vera Wang. And, although the style has been around for a while, it has been reinvented by adding a pop of colour. The bright colours are on trend this season and are just the thing to lift your mood until we eventually get some sunshine and a healthy dose of vitamin D!

The Arteecollage basic tees would be great to wear with a pair of these shorts. The simple design allows the shorts to stand out but the colour of the tee will compliment a variety of colours. Like most Arteecollage garments, the t-shirts are made with modal fabric, which is super soft and super comfortable. Who said you couldn’t be stylish and comfortable?

The length of the shorts are flattering for a range or shapes and ages and can be dressed up with heels and a blazer, which is a favourite combination of mine. Alternatively you can compliment your Arteecollage top with sandals and a chunky necklace for the warmer weather when it arrives! These striped shorts from Dockers can be found on Amazon along with Arteecollage T-shirts and are a more wearable version of the spring trend.

Are you guys enjoying my posts for Arteecollage? The website is still currently undergoing a revamp but will be back soon with lots of exciting products!
